Not one of us can afford to take our clean air, fresh water and lush, dense forests for granted. Maybe it seems odd that a millworking company would be so outspoken in favor of forestry conservation. But to us it just makes good sense. Can you imagine a painter who didn’t care if all the colors slowly drained from the world, or a musician who stood by as every sound went silent? At MCM, we take our responsibility to sustainable forestry and green building very seriously. We are proud to be fully certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and are committed to maintaining our high Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating. Apart from the stringent criteria needed to achieve and maintain these designations, MCM believes that environmentally friendly policies make good sense. We use only formaldehyde free core materials whenever possible, we control emissions at our central processing plant, dispose of solid waste appropriately, and we work to lead by example, demonstrating to the woodworking industry at large that sustainability is the only viable choice for our industry and society.
